March Service Challenge: Read Across America

Today the nation celebrates the National Education Association's Read Across America Day, a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on Dr. Seuss's birthday. Children across the country participate in reading their favorite books, a multitude of fun activities and have guest speakers come in and read to them.

So, that being said, guess what this month's Monthly Service Challenge is going to be? Read on to find out....

You probably guessed right! What better way to celebrate the occasion than to volunteer to read to a child? You can do this at your child's school or, if you don't have any children, at your local library or community center. You can even take the time to read to your niece, nephew, little cousin, godchild, etc. You get the point. It will take less than an hour of your day and you can really make a difference in that child's day.

Now, not everyone is comfortable with public speaking and that's all right. Not to worry.  For those of you who are not comfortable with public speaking, you can always donate a book to someone, personally or anonymously. It can be a children's book to a child or a self-help book to an adult or teenager.

If you would like to do so anonymously, you can leave a book at your local grocery store, at your doctor's office, at a bus stop or at a laundry mat.  The possibilities are endless.

Whatever the case may be, any book donation from the heart is a blessing.

I've created these gift tags that can be used with your books. Please feel free to print them out and attach them to your gift.

Remember, you have the whole month of March to complete this Service Challenge!

Please feel free to share your stories with us here or on social media by using the hash-tag #LittleRandomBlessing or #MonthlyServiceChallenge.

Be blessed!
